Newsletters
Build relationships with your customers and boost employee morale through
regular newsletters. Whether via print or email, newsletters are a great way
to keep in touch, educate and entertain. If you need layout assistance, I can
bring in one of the local graphic designers I work with to provide a turnkey
solution.
Website Content
(SEO Copywriting, FAQs, About Us, Product & Service Descriptions)
A great website needs graphics, keywords and strategically placed click
points, but it also needs a little something extra. People want a connection.
They want stories. They want to get to know you and feel good about using
your product or service. So along with your SEO strategies be sure to include
FAQs, a company history and anything else that makes you unique or
interesting.
Business Letters
Communicating with your clients, prospects and supporters through direct
letters is a great way to stay in touch and to let them know what you can do
for them, what you need and what’s happening in your world.
Brochures
Websites are the default these days when it comes to information about your
products, services or your company as a whole, but there are still times when
you need a handout for prospective buyers. Whether you want a simple tri-
fold or a multi-page information packet, clear, concise copy and great
graphics are the keys to success.
Testimonials
Letting past clients speak for you can work better at winning new clients than
the cleverest ad slogan or the slickest graphics. However, approaching clients
about singing your praises isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Let me help. I
can handle the whole process, from contacting the clients and interviewing
them, to editing their remarks and receiving their approval, and finally
delivering clear, concise quotes for your website and printed marketing
materials.
Editing
If you’re on a tight budget and/or happen to be able to craft decent sentences
yourself, you might want to hire a writer just to edit your words and give
them a little polish. Editing generally takes less time than writing from
scratch, and I have a knack for taking someone else’s words and polishing
them for flow and clarity, so that they truly communicate what you want to
say.
Articles
(magazines, ezines, trade publications, local & national publications)
A well-placed article can boost interest in your story or business. Whether you
serve a local or national audience, there are dozens of print and web
publications who might be interested in running a story about you.
My current focus is on small businesses and business-related topics. (I’m
especially partial to those pursuing eco-friendly directions.) But I also write
about many other subjects that catch my interest. I love to learn how things
work and what goes on behind the scenes. And I prefer to tell the “good
news” stories, which include failure, success, hope, and fear, with a pinch of
happy ending thrown in for good measure.
I have been a regular contributor to Millionaire Blueprints
(www.millionaireblueprints.com) for the past four years, a magazine that
interviews owners of successful businesses (usually those started from scratch
with little money) on how they got started. We publish their stories in detail,
focusing on the tangible steps they took and why, so that readers might gain
some insight and inspiration for their own ventures.
Ghostwriting
(articles, columns, books)
If you have something you would like to say in print, but don’t have the time
or the know-how to write it yourself, you might need a ghostwriter. A
ghostwriter can take your thoughts and words, and shape them into the piece
you want to publish.
If you think people only use ghostwriters for books, you might be surprised to
learn that they also use them for magazine articles, newsletters, and
newspaper columns. If you're an expert on your topic or have a good story to
tell, you don't have to be a good writer too. That's why people hire
ghostwriters.
Marketing Consultation
(for small businesses)
Are you great at running your business, but need a few ideas when it comes to
bringing customers in the door? After 16 years in the business world, and
interviewing dozens of successful business owners, I’ve picked up a few
marketing tips along the way. I’d love to sit down with you and brainstorm
ways to increase your sales. Sure, many of my ideas will include writing
projects, but you’ll be surprised how many don’t.
